Leopard Class

Welcome to Leopard class!

We are a class of 30 enthusiastic and wonderful children! We are very lucky to have not one, but two teachers, Mrs Ashfield and Ms Dolman. Mrs Ashfield is in class every Monday, Tuesday and every other Wednesday afternoon. Ms Dolman is in class every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. We also have the fabulous Mrs Smith supporting the class every morning up until lunchtime.

Year 1 is a busy but fantastically fun year transitioning from Reception and preparing them for the challenges of Year 2. They will become a lot more independent and allow their talents to shine alongside many opportunities for play based learning. You will be surprised at how quickly the children progress! We have a cross curricular approach to learning here, with our current topic being ‘Conservation’. We pull in the term’s topic into all areas of the curriculum, from literacy and maths, to subjects such as history and geography.

Our classroom is situated next to the library, which allows for the growing interest in reading, and also has its own outdoor learning area to extend what is taught inside the classroom walls.

Please keep in touch with us by checking our notice board by the entrance door and also via the class dojo.
