Lighthouse Schools Partnership

Flourishing in Partnership

Winford Church of England Primary School is proud to be part of the Lighthouse Schools Partnership (LSP), a multi-academy trust bringing together schools that share a commitment to providing excellent education and opportunities for every child.

The Trust's vision, Flourishing in Partnership, reflects its belief that schools can achieve more by working together, sharing expertise and supporting one another.

This complements our own Christian vision, Together we Flourish, and our values of Aspire, Belong and Care.

What Is the Lighthouse Schools Partnership?

The Lighthouse Schools Partnership is a charitable, not-for-profit Schools Trust established in 2016.

It brings together primary and secondary schools across North Somerset and the wider Bristol area, providing education from nursery through to sixth form.

Although each school has its own character, community and priorities, all benefit from being part of a wider partnership committed to improving education.

The Trust believes that education has the power to change lives for the better and is dedicated to helping pupils, staff and school communities flourish.

What Does Being Part of LSP Mean for Winford?

Being part of a larger partnership provides valuable opportunities for our children, staff and school community.

High-Quality Teaching and Learning

We benefit from shared curriculum expertise, educational research and professional development opportunities that help us continually improve teaching and learning.

Supporting Every Child

The Trust provides access to specialist knowledge and support, including expertise in SEND, inclusion and school improvement.

This helps us strengthen our provision and ensure that children with different needs receive appropriate support and opportunities.

Developing Our Staff

Our teachers, Learning Partners and school leaders benefit from professional networks, training and opportunities to collaborate with colleagues across other schools.

Sharing ideas and effective practice helps us develop our expertise and improve children's experiences.

Working Together

Through collaboration with other schools, we can share resources, learn from one another and develop new opportunities.

This is particularly valuable for a village primary school, allowing us to benefit from the experience and expertise of a much wider educational community.

Strong Leadership and Support

The Trust provides strategic leadership and professional support in areas including education, finance, safeguarding, human resources and school operations.

This allows our school team to focus on what matters most: providing the best possible education and care for our children.

Maintaining Our Unique Identity

Although we are part of a larger partnership, Winford retains its own identity, character and strong connection with the local community.

We remain proud of our Church of England foundation, our relationship with the local church and our place at the heart of village life.

Our school vision, values and ethos continue to guide our daily work.

Being part of LSP enables us to combine the strengths of a small, caring village school with the opportunities and expertise of a wider educational partnership.

Governance and Accountability

The Lighthouse Schools Partnership is governed by a Board of Trustees, which holds overall responsibility for the Trust's strategic direction, educational standards and financial management.

Winford also has a Local Governing Body, whose members provide support, challenge and local oversight in accordance with the Trust's governance arrangements.

Our governors work alongside school leaders and the Trust to support continued school improvement and ensure that decisions reflect the needs of our children and community.

Further information is available on our Governors page and the Trust's website.
