School Uniform
Together we Flourish | Aspire • Belong • Care
At Winford Church of England Primary School, we encourage children to take pride in being part of our school community.
Our school uniform helps create a sense of belonging and identity, while ensuring that children are comfortable, appropriately dressed and ready for learning.
We aim to keep our uniform simple, practical and affordable. Items featuring the school logo are available to purchase, but they are not compulsory. Plain alternatives in the correct school colours are equally welcome.
Please remember: Children wear their school uniform on normal school days and come to school dressed in their PE kit on designated PE days.

PE Kit
Physical education is an important part of our curriculum, helping children develop fitness, teamwork, confidence and a positive attitude towards being active.
Children should come to school wearing their PE kit on their designated PE days. They do not need to bring a separate PE kit to change into.
Our PE kit consists of:
-
A T-shirt in the child's school house colour.
-
Black shorts.
-
Suitable trainers or daps.
-
Black tracksuit bottoms or joggers for colder weather.
Our House Colours
-
Blaze – Red

-
Aqua – Blue
-
Terra – Green
-
Spirit – Yellow
House-colour T-shirts with the school logo are available to purchase, but plain T-shirts in the appropriate colour are equally acceptable.
Please ensure that all PE clothing is clearly labelled with your child's name.
Class teachers will communicate which days children need to wear their PE kit.
Outdoor Learning and Forest Activities
We are fortunate to have wonderful outdoor spaces at Winford, including our woodland, field and gardening areas.
Outdoor learning is an important part of school life, and children enjoy opportunities to explore, investigate and learn in different environments throughout the year.
For outdoor activities, children may need:
-
A waterproof coat.
-
Wellies or suitable outdoor footwear.
-
Warm layers during colder weather.
-
Clothing suitable for practical activities, which may become muddy.
Teachers will communicate any additional clothing requirements for specific activities.
Reception Children
We ask that Reception children have a waterproof coat and a pair of named wellies that can be kept in school.
This allows children to make full use of our outdoor learning environment throughout the year, whatever the weather.
Where to Buy Uniform
School uniform with the Winford logo can be purchased from:
However, branded uniform is not required. Plain red sweatshirts, cardigans and polo shirts, along with other uniform items, can be purchased from supermarkets and high-street retailers.
We encourage families to choose the most practical and affordable options for their children.
Pre-Loved Uniform
We are keen to make school uniform affordable and to reduce unnecessary waste.
We have a selection of good-quality, pre-loved school uniform available to families, subject to stock.
Please contact or visit the school office to enquire about available items. A selection of these can be found in the drawers in the main entrance,
Choosing pre-loved uniform is a great way to save money, reduce waste and demonstrate our school value of Care through looking after our environment.
Jewellery and Personal Belongings
For children's safety, we ask families to follow these guidelines:
-
Children with pierced ears should wear small stud earrings only.
-
Jewellery must be removed for PE where required by safety guidance. Earrings that cannot be safely removed may mean a child cannot take part in certain activities.
-
Valuable items and unnecessary personal belongings should be left at home.
-
Mobile phones and other electronic devices should not be brought into school unless specific permission has been given under our school arrangements.
We ask that all uniform, coats, bags and other belongings are clearly labelled with your child's name.
